Learning a new language has traditionally meant taking a long time to study with repetitive lessons and lots of boring grammar to contend with. Summary: I reviewed Michel Thomas Arabic extensively a short while back and ended up with almost nothing positive to say about the course (both levels). The Michel Thomas method is, in my opinion, full of holes and defies current research conclusions in SLA.
So although you can download some comprehensive, detailed Arabic courses for free with audio, be aware that the material is literally photocopied booklets that were typed up on typewriters making it almost illegible.
This is a course you can find online. And a wonderful part of it is that the University of Iceland offers it for free, so you will have money left for new books! This online course offers a ton of quick drills, lessons, and even some audio is available through the site.

B1 in 12 months should be doable, especially with my material but I always recommend that you hire a private tutor to have an eye on your direction and progress especially because you do not seem to be an experienced self-learner.
